Boulder (population around 1300) is the county seat of Jefferson County, Montana. It lies between the state capital of Helena and Butte along Interstate 15 by the gorgeous Elkhorn Mountains. Clancy and Montana City (population about 1300 each) are in northern Jefferson County.

   A new gallery and gift shop for local artists on Boulder’s Main Street features a wide array of works.
     The L&P Grocery’s new store is going up in Boulder, replacing the existing store and expanding its size.
     An explosion in the town of Whitehall, about 35 miles south of Boulder in Jefferson County, destroyed four businesses and damaged two others on Friday, March 6.
     Storefronts in Whitehall are boarded up after the March 6 explosion.
